This waterfall is near is Soqgo village situated near Gulabpur in the Shigar Valley of Shigar District of Baltistan region in the Gilgit-Baltistan province of Pakistan.

The Shigar valley is approximately 170 km long and runs along the Shigar River which flows into the Indus River. Shigar is considered to have a desert climate. There is virtually no rainfall during the year.

Majority of the people living in this area speak Balti language which is an ancient form of Tibetan language.

The livelihood of these people depend on cultivation of wheat, barley, fodder for animals and farming of apricot.

This Soqgo village lies at the foothills of a beautiful mountain range which is the gateway to Karakoram mountain range.

Across the Shigar river is the Haider Abad village which leads to Askole and then to the base camp of K2, the second highest mountain in the world.

This mesmerising Soqgo waterfall is just one of the many unnamed waterfalls these mountains have to offer to those who pass through this remote area of North Eastern Pakistan.

This exquisiteness is accessible only to those mountaineers who are ready to climb over 1600 feet from the Soqgo village which is already at an elevation of circa 7600 feet.

If you just want to enjoy the view then make sure you are on the other side of the river near Haider Abad village with a pair of high powered binoculars for long distance.
