Ayun spillway is part of the Micro-Hydel Power Station on river Bumburet en route to Kalash valley.
Ayun is an administrative unit, known as Union Council and village in Chitral district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, 12 km south of the town of Chitral.
This village is located on the Chitral River at its confluence with the Bumburet River.
Beautiful mountains surround the village and the Bumburet river runs the length of the village.
Willow and giant walnut trees stand on the Bumburet river bank.
Bumburet river is harnessed to generate electricity for both Ayun and for the village of Broze.
Micro-Hydel Power Station (MHP), a small scale power plant has been set up by the Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP).
This power plant was inaugurated on 10 July, 2011.
From the road, the spillway of the hydel power plant looks like a beautiful natural waterfall.
The Bumburet river also provides water for irrigation and for drinking.
