China Port Karachi is a 2.5 kilometre stretch of concrete tetrapods built by the Chinese for the South Asia Pakistan Terminal.
It is being built to protect large ships from high tide.
The water is very deep at the port and there are no safety rails.
Up until recently, thousands of people used to go to the port everyday with their families and friends.
A tetrapod structure is used to prevent coastal erosion and to support breakwaters.
It is important to note that this is not a public place as there’s nothing to prevent people from getting swept away by a high wave.
The KPT has imposed a ban to protect the citizens and to make sure no one gets hurt at the port.
Section 144 of the PPC has been imposed at the breakwater at China Port.
This means people are not allowed to visit the port any more.
The KPT has even asked the police to deploy security at the port.
