Wali Tangi Dam is a small dam in the Urak Valley in Balochistan province of Pakistan. It is situated approximately 20 km east of Quetta at an elevation of approximately 8,350 ft.

This wonderful paradise in the middle of nowhere is just perfect for a family picnic.

Though reaching Wali Tangi is a little difficult due to the road’s rough condition, but once you reach here, the beautiful lake and water springing out of the hills will just mesmerize you.

Wali Tangi Dam was constructed by the Pakistan Army in the early 1960s with the purpose of supplying clean water to the Urak Valley and Quetta for irrigation and human consumption.

The dam stores and utilises fresh water from melting snows in the surrounding Zarghoon Hills, which are part of the Sulaiman Range.

You need to show your identity to go inside the park.

Distance between gate and Wali Tangi is 5 km.

The road is not really dangerous but it is unpaved and stony. It is better to take a rented car. Or you can walk all the way to dam (2 hours to reach Wali Tangi dam on foot).

The road leading to dam is very beautiful. The stunning landscape and the massive rocks and crevasses are no less than the Grand Canyon.
At dam you can get tea only so take your own food there.
