Pishin, founded by the British Empire in 1883, connects Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan with Afghanistan.
Pishin is a peaceful and beautiful area of Balochistan and the people of Pishin are educated and hardworking.
Pishin Rest House is 55 km north of Quetta and it takes approximately 1.5 hrs to reach the place.
The Rest House is a lush green place during spring/summer season but provides a different yet equally beautiful look during autumn and winter seasons.
Thick layer of fallen to the ground green-turned-yellow-turned-red-turned-golden maple leaves cover a large area, giving a very serene look to the surrounding area.
Apparently, it’s a popular weekend getaway destination for the families of the officers deputed in the vicinity of Quetta city.
The most important feature of the Rest House is the extra ordinary food cooked by a chef who is an 18 grade officer!
The father of the current chef, was a master chef. He was the first one to receive a promotion to Grade 18 by the then president of Pakistan; Ayub Khan.
The food served here is out of this world. The taste, the aroma, the texture everything is exclusive and unique.
In the summer, temperature of Pishin can reach 40 °C (104 °F) and during the winter, temperatures may fall to sub-zero level.
